My
kind of town, Chicago is!

Last
February, we made our second trip to Chicago in 6 months.
And we stayed, again, in the incredible Palmer House
Hilton. This time we were filming A Closer
Look (the tv talk show I co-host with Gayla
Brumfield), and our mission was to track down a friend
and former student from ENMU... Conrad Sanchez.
And we found him!

Conrad
is one of only two National Make-up Directors for Chanel.
And not only is he good at his job, we made him prove
it! The photo above is one of 4 "looks" that
Conrad gave me in an afternoon of make-overs. And the
photo was taken with the new Sprint Vision phone!

While
in Chicago, we visited Andersonville (the Swedish neighborhood)
and had the lovely Ruth Weisen as our host. Ruth is
a Chicago Greeter, someone who lives in the area and is willing
to take you out and about. She soon became my new best friend!
We also met Charlotta, the former curator of the Swedish-American
Museum. And on that cold, cold Chicago day, we had a lot of
laughs, made many warm friendships, and had a couple of glasses
of Glugg. My mother would have been proud.
